My Writing Style

Woman by a tree with butterly wings made of fabric

Every time I come up with a new idea for a book, it is always based upon a life lesson or a life experience. I also like to incorporate real things and places that I have experienced to help tell the story. In addition, I love to incorporate real people into fictional characters but embellish the character in order to create an engaging story. When I read fiction, to me, it always seems as if fiction is based on truth. I believe that many times it is, and people find ways to share viewpoints of life experiences by mixing up characters, places and dialogue. It is great fun and a superb outlet for inner creativity.

Check out this ad by Hermes Paris. I love to look at this photo as it is a perfect example of advertising depicting more than one thing for more than one purpose. Brilliant creativity! For me, this is great inspiration.

About

Jules started her writing career when she was 14 years old. Growing up in Chicago, she fell in love with stories offering profound life lessons, and the Windy City sparked her imagination and deep passions for stories about real life situations. She was also inspired by the city’s art, photography, music, architecture and the diverse cultures in Chicago. A move later in life to New York City led to an extensive career in cable TV and programming, that included creating content, developing and editing scripts – and ultimately structuring her own stories in screenplay and novel formats.

In addition to writing stories about ‘what if’ situations, Jules loves to explore cultures from around the world. She has spent a career pursuing cross cultural differences and what cultures teach us about humanity. The Other Side of Goodbye is her first published fiction novel, based in Ireland.  Jules currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, daughter, and Great Dane mix.
