Costa Rican Inspiration.

If there is one place that you seek for tranquility when you write, this is it!  Take a look at where I wrote for weeks.  I was inspired every day and was able to get un-stuck in an important part of the next book.

The Prequel.

Leave in three days for Costa Rica, and now have a plan for the main crux of my next story — the prequel to The Other Side of Goodbye.  I will be doing research for how the main character will discover something – on accident, in Costa Rica.

After throwing around ideas with my sister, she enlightened me on how I could possibly unveil a big secret that I have been stuck on for months.  She made it so easy, and now I am very excited to feature a major component of the book – from the depths of this beautiful country.

So exciting to incorporate special things from places I have traveled to.  I am now twice as eager to go and have additional great reasons to travel…to not only learn about countries like Costa Rica, but to blend unique aspects of each, into my writing.

Stay tuned for how this becomes…

Community Support!

What a day…spent traveling around town, asking for my book to be featured at local places.  All said yes!

The Other Side of Goodbye is now also featured in the local library, my hair salon, the spa, the dry cleaners, the dentist, and more!  And next:  The 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair – one of the world’s most important and biggest annual international book event!

One day at a time…and then one day:  full dream fulfilled 🙂

Oh, and stay tuned for book in Spanish, audible book and print on demand (in addition to Book Revue in Huntington, NY)…hmmm, what does tomorrow look like?

Softcover Now Available at Book Revue!

For those of you asking, I dropped off my first shipment of books today at the Book Revue in Huntington, NY!  I’m officially in my first bookstore, along with having it as an e-book on Amazon!  More progress…what a great feeling!

A Dip in the Pool.

One such fan, who will remain nameless, told me she was so enthralled with what she was reading, that she dropped my book into the pool while laying on a floatie in the water!  I love it!!!

My Dream.

Someone asked me the other day…if I could have one thing in relation to my writing, what would it be?  My answer: Spend one week with Stephen King and having him take me through the details in his book, On Writing – A Memoir of the Craft…and applying those learnings to my book.

I can only hope that my writing can be as engaging as his one day.

2nd Book Launch.

This was a beautiful day.  I continue to receive such wonderful support and awesome feedback on this book.  It inspires me to continue writing.  And it certainly has become a business…I’ve acquired an official publishing company, JGS Publishing, and am beginning the process of heavy marketing, which is leading to incredible sales and word of mouth. Have sold over a 100 books so far, just posted it to Amazon as an e-book and am now connecting with local independent book stores.  The libraries are next.  Bigger goals are to add print on demand option to Amazon and add audible, and then putting the book in multiple languages.  A softcover of the book will also be available soon on http://www.mirabooksmart.com.

Happy 4th and cheers to all authors out there figuring out the process!

The Amazon Process.

For those of you who have done this before, you will know what I mean when I say, “What a process!”

One must be pretty determined and focused to not miss one element of what it takes to prepare and upload and actually drive business from this distribution hub.  Regardless, it is exciting for both me as an author and for consumers today who demand what they want.  It opens endless doors, not just from Amazon, but all the platforms that are becoming available every day.  Readers have unlimited choice today and what is better than that?

I love brands that focus on business-to-business customer service and consumer customer service.  It’s what drives innovation, and ultimately, better products and services.

Focus.

As a writer, I find it especially difficult to focus on what you do for a living and what you aim to do.  It’s great when the two blend and you have a universal situation.  The challenge now is to switch back and forth, despite how good it is on both ends.  So for now, the day is split – ½ between a wonderful group of clients; ½ on writing and developing the craft.

Calls for many late nights with my iPod and headphones!  I find myself incredibly lucky…

First Book Launch.

Thanks to all my first round of family and friends that have purchased my book and have already given me incredible feedback! It inspires me to continue writing and improve my craft and gives me such joy that others can enjoy my stories and incredible characters that I love so much…I am incredibly proud to know all of you…
